NEWS: On Cinco de Mayo, The Rio Grande Guitar Quartet (one of my groups) will start our Kickstarter Fundraising Project.  We made a fun video to tell you all about it, and I will post that link as soon as it is live!

What else? Audra Vigil (one of my students) will be participating in the Parkening Competition. She was one of 10 students from around the world chosen via unedited DVD to compete in Malibu this May.  (For those who missed it, Audra was also  invited to perform on NPR's "From the Top" which was broadcast around the world on Jan. 1st, 2012)

Other news:  Presti, a dynamic group of women guitarists, has concerts coming up in July and then in October as well.  We hope to record a CD this summer (that will be two Cds in less than 30 days for me...a busy summer, for sure!).

What else? Well, I recently commissioned and received a magical piece by Frank Wallace setting a Garcia Lorca poem for guitar and narrator, and it is BEAUTIFUL.  I will premier the work at the Classical Minds Festival in Houston, TX where I will split a concert with none other than Frank himself! Talk about a perfect set up for the premiere!

I am also preparing to record volumes I and II of Castlenuovo-Tedesco's "Platero y yo" as narrator and guitarist for CD  with the hope that the Cd will be released in Spring of  2013. This has been a huge undertaking that I will be so happy to share in recorded form!
