BIG NEWS: Audra Vigil, one of my students, was invited to perform on NPR's "From the Top" which was broadcast around the world on Jan. 1st...and she did a fantastic job!! She performed Roland Dyens' Saudade No. 3 and did classical guitarists around the world proud (including her teacher, of course!!!).  You can listen to her by follwing this link...she begins a little after 14 min. : Audra Vigil Performing on "From the Top"

Other news: In the last year or so I have also joined two fantastic ensembles: Presti, a dynamic group of women guitarists, as well as the Albuquerque based Rio Grande Guitar Quartet. I plan to record CDs with both groups this summer (RGGQ will do a premier recording of a new piece by Roland Dyens) so please check out our sites, spread the word,  and come back often! 

What else? Well, I have recently commissioned a piece by Frank Wallace setting a Garcia Lorca poem for guitar and narrator, and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I hope to premier the work in May.

I am also preparing to record volumes I and II of Castlenuovo-Tedesco's "Platero y yo" as narrator and guitarist for CD and DVD with the hope that the Cd will be released in late 2012, and the DVD in 2013. This has been a huge undertaking that I will be so happy to share in recorded form!  I just performed them for an attentive crowd in New Zealand!!!!
