UPCOMING PROJECTS

NEW PIECE: Composer and accomplished guitarist and singer Frank Wallace has composed an amazing setting of the Garcia Lorca text "La muerte oscura" for guitar and narrator (I premiered this piece in June of 2012). I hope to have an mp3 posted soon!  It is a tragically beautiful work and a magical setting of the dark poem!

STUDENT SUCCESS

This summer Audra Vigil placed 3rd in the senior division of the International Youth Competition at the Guitar Foundation of America in a stunning field of young players. Last summer she placed in adult divisions with 2nd place at the Sierra Nevada Competition and 4th in the Eastern Carolina Universtiy Competition. She was up against college-level students and professionals, so this is a huge accomplishment!

She also was the 2013 winner of the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival full scholarship that was worth close to $7,000 and allowed her to work with fantastic teachers in a beautiful setting. She also won the Classical Minds Guitar Competition (high school division) and participated in the Parkening Competition where she was one of 10 students from around the world chosen via unedited DVD to compete in Malibu, CA.  (For those who missed it, Audra was also  invited to perform on NPR's "From the Top" which was broadcast around the world on Jan. 1st, 2012)

Other highschool students have been improving by leaps and bounds and are members of the New Mexico All-State Guitar Orchestra, involved in Honor Group, and are performing in the commuity.

RECORDING: I am preparing to record Volumes I and II of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's "Platero y yo" as narrator and guitarist with the hope that the Cd will be released in Fall of  2014.

Thanks again for being here, and for your support!
